Mostly devoted to RSC Anderlecht, AFS-1908 is the Facebook page of a group of Sporting supporters. We’re a private Facebook
group with more than 10 000 members today.
We talk about RSCA, about the Red Devils, and occasionally about other teams, or even other sports. Successful areas may become the subject of the opening of an
AFS-1908 branch, as it’s been the case with
AfietS-1908 for cycling, for example. There may be more in the future.
Thank you for being kind enough to review our rules above, and to comply with them when you access our Facebook page.
Rules AFS-1908
Beyond the rules in force, both legally and on the network used, and in order to ensure the well-being of everyone, administrators ask members to keep the following rules in mind:
Respect: no insults or profanity, neither towards the players and staff, nor towards the club management, nor towards the administrators, nor towards any other
member.
Neither racism, nor sexism, nor any form of discrimination whatsoever, is tolerated in the communications on our page. The primary sanction in
the event of an infringement to what is part, we recall, of the general legal framework, is the expulsion of the member, without prejudice to the possible filing of an
official complaint.
Spelling: sometimes we refuse certain publications made incomprehensible by a faulty spelling. However, do not criticize the spelling of others.
Communicate as much as possible in the appropriate section: during a game, for example, do not try to publish a comment like « Goooaaal!!! »
apart from the live topic. Every such thing must remain in the right topic. The same is valid for a transfer, a chronicle, forecasts, a survey, etc.
Images: no need to offer us every morning images with tigers or rabbits. We already have enough images. And if you want to publish an image created by
Patrick John, ask his permission, and publish the image without altering it. Texts and videos are subject to similar rules: please respect the author (or the
group in the case of a collective work) by kindly citing her or him.
Publications are subject to approval. As a result, it may happen that they remain on standby for a relatively long time. With all our regrets, we cannot manage
thousand requests for publication when we all are at a game for example.
In the event of non-compliance with the communication philosophy that we always have wanted to implement and which has earned us unanimous respect, sanctions
may be applied. They will go from a ban on communicating on the group for a few hours, up to the definitive ban of the member.
Respect for these few simple rules is essential for the comfort and well-being of all.
Games and predictions
We’re far from the amounts that punctuate the communication of professional sport in our competitions, completely free and (let’s pray, my sisters, let’s pray, my brothers
) sometimes endowed with prizes that depend on the personal investment of the administrators or on the kindness of soul from an eventual sponsor – amazing,
the tricks these find to discard our demands!
By participating in one of our games, winners waive their image rights in anything that is published about that game on the AFS-1908 media, or that is used by a sponsor of the
game for his own promotion.
In order to speed up the processing of the predictions, we have decided to computerize it. Therefore, we are forced to ask you to show some rigor: the intellectual flexibility
of the computers is not yet close to competing with that of humans.
Predictions : RSCA season
A special “Predictions” topic is open on AFS-1908 at the latest 48 hours before the start of the match. The predictions are collected from this topic, and from
nowhere else! This topic will be closed for comments in the last minutes preceding the start of the match.
The prediction express the author’s estimation of the final score of the match, including any extra time, but excluding the penalties kicked in the event of a tie.
The prediction is given in Arabic numerals in the classic form: ‘home team goals - away team goals’.
For example, ‘2-1’ is valid. Not ‘two – one’ nor ‘II-I’. Do not confuse ‘3-0’ and ‘3-O’: the number ‘0’ and the letter ‘O’ could be differently
interpreted.
Except in unlikely circumstances, improbabilities (more than 15 goals in a match) make the prognosis invalid.
Unless currently suspended, each member has the right to play. Only one prediction per member and per match: if a member makes several predictions, only one will be
counted if they are identical. If they are not the same, all will be considered invalid, except for the most recent one.
The topic is not a place for discussion. Comments are unnecessary. They are tolerated, because the opportunities to smile are always too scarce, but they are only
tolerated. The use of Arabic numerals in these comments is likely to interfere with the interpretation of the prognosis and is therefore VERY
discouraged.
The recognition algorithm has been extensively tested and refined. Therefore, we do not proceed to any manual correction in the file extracted from the topic.
The exact prediction of the score is worth 3 points; the correct prediction of the result, not combined with the exact prediction of the score, is worth 1 point.
These points are multiplied by the match coefficient, as announced for each match which is part of the contest.
The result of each round of the competition and the provisional general classification are published no later than 48 hours after the end of a match. The general
classification will be considered final at the end of the season.
Predictions : Cycling and Cyclocross
To date, no prize has been awarded to the winner of this competition. The events concerned are the races registered on the UCI road calendar in the WorldTour category
and in the European section of the UCI Pro Series.
An arbitrary selection of events from the UCI World Championships, the UEC European Championships, the Belgian National Championship, as well as the Olympic Games,
are added to the races detailed above.
Regarding Cyclocross, the selection of events is consistent with what is detailed above.
A special “Predictions” topic is open on AFS-1908 at the latest 48 hours before the start of the race. Everything is explained in this topic: class of the race, number
of authorized riders in a prediction, points attibuted according to each place in the classification, etc.
The recognition algorithm has been extensively tested and refined. It presupposes that the names of the predicted runners are perfectly spelled. Experience shows us,
however, that this presupposition is illusory. From then on, we proceed to manually check the spelling as best we can. In particular, cases of homonymy are
treated in good faith, and cannot be criticized by a player who hasn't bothered to specify the first name of a rider.
When, at the beginning of 2019, some administrators discover a common passion for cycling, the project is a bit slow to take shape: we are not very sure that it is a good idea
to create a group of bike fans within AFS-1908. Then, as the opening of the European road season is fast approaching, we decide to launch it: if it fails, we’ll be sorry but
life will go on.
Today, the group counts more than 100 members, many of whom are active. We all looked forward to the resumption of a seriously disrupted 2020 season – for the reasons we
all know – but some deception was waiting around the corner: biking with the fear isn't exactly what we all dream of.
You need not be a member of AFS-1908 to register on Afiets-1908 but… the rules are identical.
Like most, we never imagined that one day we would be the victim of such a health disaster... And yet, from the end of February 2020, we understand: the situation is serious.
Also among us: some of us work in the health sector; some have relatives, friends who are affected by the virus; others are worried and not sure how to react. Information
is difficult to obtain, and sometimes it is contradictory. Ignorant persons go so far as to pretend that we will decontaminate objects by putting them in the freezer, when the
exact opposite is likely to happen.
CoroNavy-1908 is put together quickly because it is unbearable for us to imagine that one of our members could be the victim of this horrible kind of misleading information.
We insist to everyone: we have created fixed headings in order to avoid seeing important information buried in the middle of others.
Because there’s more than just news on the page: we also made sure to feed the group with jokes, concerts found on Youtube, reviews of books, films, etc.
With the decrease of the epidemic in Belgium, the activity of the group had gradually decreased, but we hoped to have contributed that our members do not feel too bruised by the
long period of confinement which we all underwent. Then however, happened what we all were afraid of…
Being a member of AFS-1908 is not mandatory to register on CoroNavy-1908 but here too, the same rules apply.
